Sergei Nabatov

Professional Dancer, Teacher, Adjudicator and Choreographer. A champion of many International and National Championships himself, he taught many students from scratch to Championship level. Professor Nabatov is a former Ten-Dance Champion of Ukraine and has won many international competitions.

He has worked with world class dancers, theaters and TV stations in many countries. In Ukraine, he was the director of the Institute of Ballroom Dancing at Kiev University as well as the owner of a dance school with over 300 students. It was there that he first taught Maria Manusova and several other students.

He brought his ballroom expertise to Brooklyn College in 2001 when he joined the teaching staff. In addition to creating ballroom classes for students to take as a credited college course, he has also established the Olympic Hopefuls Ballroom Dance Program to recruit less-experienced but talented dancers and train them to competitive levels to represent Brooklyn College, and to inspire the love of ballroom dance to the Brooklyn College community.

He is also an accredited World Dance & DanceSport Council (WDDSC) and National Dance Council of America (NDCA) International adjudicator, as well as an accomplished choreographer and producer.
